It's very interesting to carry-out a cultural tour through Finland. If you love culture, art, castles, museums and historic buildings, Finland offers a wide variety of places and sightseeing to visit during your vacation in Scandinavia from the south of the countryside until the Arctic Circle.

There are many towns in Finland that have unique monuments worth visiting. We start our tour in the capital of Finland, which is Helsinki. The most prominent places for sightseeing in the Finnish capital are Suomenlinna Castle or the Fortress of Finland, which is the translated name. This fort is dated to the eighteenth century and is listed as a World Heritage Site. In Helsinki, you can also visit the old town and its cathedral, or Senate Square, which are the most important and prominent places.

Other major cities found in Finland such as Turku, which is considered a unique, impressive, and historical city, and is considered the oldest city in the country. In this city, Turku Castle is an outstanding place to visit. The tourist here will find a castle built in the thirteenth century. Other monuments and interesting places of this city are its campus, its museums and the Botanical Gardens that are in the University City of Turku.

From Turku we go to the north, to Rovaniemi, where the most emblematic and important monuments are situated, such as the Santa Claus House, or Santa in the Arctic Circle. In Rovaniemi, tourist can also find many attractions including the Museum of the Arctic. In other cities, as Kemi, we also highlight its castle, the icebreaker or gallery of gems, and its Church.

Other important places in Finland in which tourists may enjoy sightseeing, tourism, cultural monuments, is Oulu, a city that is located in the northern part of the country, where we must highlight the Museum of Northern Ostrobothnia, founded in the late nineteenth century and where we can see the evolution history and culture of Oulu and of this specific region. Other attractions are the Tietomaa, Ainola Park, which was the former botanical garden of the University of Oulu, salt stores, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of the Arctic ... among other attractions.

The Savonlinna Castle is another interesting place to visit during your holiday in Finland.
